In December of 2000 I sat down with friend and veteran race car driver Mitch Gibbs. Mitch was at a crossroads in his 20 year career and was trying to figure out if instead of driving for yet another team it might be better to launch his own racing program. We talked of a while and hammered over the details.
"Web Site" I said, was the first thing we needed. "Anyone who is anyone has a web site. Mitch, You need a web site". We made a deal. Mitch was to handle the cars and parts and I the marketing end of things.
I started researching the web site idea and found that to have a better than average site was a cost either of us could afford. Our site was to be updated sometimes daily. Our site was to have a lot of photos and information. After all we had 20 years of information to update.
I went to my computer and began looking into how one would build a web site. I found a program that would allow quick updates with out a lot of html writing. I built a prototype site and showed it to family and friends.
With all the input we went live. The site took off and remains to be the flag ship site of Boise Marketing today.
From that site various local business's starting calling and wanting web sites. I was still getting a hold of the whole web design and how the Internet works. Things such as key words and meta tags. html codes and search engines. There was and still is a lot to learn. The web is forever changing and keeping up with those changes is a huge part of web building.
